  1. Installing the “NeoSeo Auto Detect Currency, Language and Buyer Location by GeoIp” module

It is necessary to upload files from the Upload directory of the archive to the root of the site using ftp.

After that it is necessary: ​​Go to the admin panel of the site and select the “Add-ons” -> “Modules” section

 

In the window that appears, select the “NeoSeo Auto Detect Currency, Language and Buyer Location by GeoIp” module and click the “Install” button

Next, go to the “Add-ons” -> ”Add-ons Manager” section and click the “Refresh” button in the upper right corner of the page.

Now you can edit the module settings.

2. Editing module settings

To edit the module settings, go to the site’s administrative panel and select the “Add-ons” -> “modules” section. In the list of modules that opens, select "NeoSeo Auto Detect Currency, Language and Customer Location by GeoIp" and click the “Edit” button

After that, the window for editing module settings will appear on the screen:

The “Settings” tab allows you to make certain module settings, namely:

Only the following countries are currently supported: Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan. It is impossible to add new countries on your own. If you need another country, you should contact technical support, and we will add support to the required country.

You must select a country to map the zones and click the “edit” button.

This window contains the correspondence table. The first two columns indicate the country and region from the base of IP addresses, the third and fourth columns indicate the country and region from the base of the store. To add a match, you must click on the “add” button from below in the form of a blue square with a plus sign. To remove an unnecessary or erroneous match, you must click the red delete button opposite it. After making changes, you must click the “Save” button. Duplicate matches will be highlighted in red, indicating that this link is already in use. Duplicates will be overwritten automatically. If everything is correct and there is no need to make any changes, you need to click the “Close” button. If the module has just been installed, it is recommended to save the settings after checking them.

The “Customer groups” tab allows you to configure the binding of customer groups to regions. Those. customers with a defined region will automatically be assigned the selected group.

To create a new connection, you need to click the button in the form of a blue square with a plus sign in the line that appears, you need to select a country from the list, a region and a group of buyers, which will be automatically assigned to customers from this region. After creating the links, click the “Save” button

New customer groups can be added to the menu “Customers” -> “Customer groups

For groups of buyers, you can create “Discounts” or “Promotions” in the product card, so when you enter the site, buyers from a certain region will see different discounts and promotional prices.

3. Module operation

Upon entering the site, the visitor will see a window asking him to indicate his region, or to accept automatically determined.

This notification will be only the first time a visitor logs in, when you move around the site it will no longer be displayed.

By clicking on the “Select” button, the visitor will be asked to select the region in which he is located.

Once selected, its region and customer group will be changed.

If the visitor is already registered on the site, he will select a group of buyers from the profile. A change of region will not lead to a change in the current group.

Customers from a region that is not in the matches will be assigned to the group selected “By default” in the settings of customer groups.

Buyers who could not determine the region, for example, VPN is used or the proxy will be assigned to the group that is selected “By default”.

On the “Localization” tab, it is necessary to indicate for customers from which regions the localization settings will be applied.

It is also possible to allow the buyer to choose the interface language and currency in the store, for this there are options:

  • Allow the buyer to change the language - Whether to allow the buyer to change the language of the store’s interface. You can enable it only if several interface languages ​​are configured in the store.
  • Allow buyer to change currency - Allow buyer to change store currency. It can be enabled only if the store is configured to use multiple currencies.

This example shows that customers whose region is defined as “Ukraine” will display the interface language “Russian” and the currency in the “Hryvnia” store. For customers from the “Russian Federation” region, the interface language is “Russian”, and the currency is the Russian ruble.

All visitors are allowed to change the interface language and currency of the store.

In order for this function to work correctly, it is necessary to correctly set the correspondence of the regions in the section “Mapping zones”.
