Configuring the module for Ajax Search for the online shop {SEO-Shop}, OpenCart 2.x, 3.x, ocStore

  1. Installing the “NeoSeo Ajax Search” module

To install module “NeoSeo Ajax Search” for OpenCart you need:

  1. Go to the site administration panel and select the section “Add-ons”->”Modules”:
  2. In the list of modules that opens, select “NeoSeo Ajax Search” and click “Install”:
  3. Go to “Add-ons”->”Add-ons Manager” and click on the “Update” button in the window that opens.

This completes the installation of the module and you can proceed to editing the module settings.

  1. Edit module settings

To edit module settings, go to the site's admin panel and select the “Add-ons”->”Modules” section. In the list of modules for OpenCart that opens, select “NeoSeo Ajax Search” and click on the button “Edit”:

After that, a window for editing module settings will appear on the screen:

The “Parameters” tab is intended for setting the following options:

  • Enable/disable the module. In order to connect the module to the store, in the “Status” field, select “Enabled”:
  • Search by name. The “NeoSeo Ajax search” module allows you to search for a product by its name. To do this, in this field, select the value “Enabled”:

As a result, when entering the product name in the search box, we get a list of products that match this query:

  • Search by model. The module allows you to search for a product by its model. To do this, in this field, select the value “Enabled”:

When entering the product model in the search box, we get the search result:

  • Show categories. In order to quickly find the product you need, the module allows you to display a list of all categories available on your site, next to the search bar. Consequently, the user will be able to search for products both in all categories and in a specific selected category. To do this, in this field, select the value “Enabled”:

As a result, a list of all categories available on your site has been added to the search bar:

If “Disabled” is selected, the search string will look like this:

  • Search by SKU. To search for a product on the site by its SKU, select “Enabled”:

When you enter the article number in the search bar, we get the following result:

  • Number of products per page. When entering data into the search bar, the buyer is immediately offered suitable product options that are displayed in a drop-down list. This field allows you to specify how many products to display in the drop-down list, if there are a lot of products that satisfy the user's request. For example, let's specify the value 4:

As a result, when entering the name of the product in the search box, the drop-down list offers four options for products that match the query. Other suitable options can be viewed by clicking on the “View all results” button:

  • Show pictures. When entering data into the search bar, the buyer is offered suitable product options that are displayed in a drop-down list.

If you select “Disabled” in this field, the drop-down list will display eligible products without their images:

If you select “Enabled” in this field, the drop-down list will display eligible products along with their images:

The size of product images in the drop-down list can be set in the fields “Width of the product image”, “Height of the product image”:

  • Show price. This module allows you to display the price of a product in a drop-down list of eligible products. To do this, in this field, select the value “Enabled”:

If you select “Disabled” in this field, qualified products will be displayed in the drop-down list without specifying their prices:

  • Show product rating. The module also allows you to display the product rating in the drop-down list of suitable products. To do this, in this field, select the value “Enabled”:

If you select “Disabled” in this field, the drop-down list will display matching products without specifying their ratings:

  • Number of characters in the description. Using this field, you can limit the output of the description of products that satisfy the user's request:
  • Search field selector. The “NeoSeo Ajax Search” module connects to the existing search field on the site. In this field, specify the selector of the search field of your online store. Accordingly, the module will be loaded to the search string with the corresponding selector: : 10px; width: 555px;" />
